Hello Again
Yeah, I've not posted in a while. I'm sure y'all are disappointed.
Life continues to be hectic. Consequently, I neglected to mention a few things that happened-- namely a fantastic wedding (not mine), visiting friends, and having fun. I had thought about inviting a friend to the ceremony with me, but decided against it because most of them were either busy, not inclined to go, or didn't know the bride and groom.1
Mr. & Mrs. Flavorflanks returned from their honeymoon yesterday. At least that's what their Facebook statuses indicate. I've no idea if they brought the cannibalistic peacock back with them. I doubt it.
I've been busy working. I've been doing a lot of the same things I've been doing, so there's no need for me to go into great detail.
I've also been asked to do more things as well. Yes, more responsibility.2 It remains to be seen how it'll affect my job. There shouldn't be much impact. There have been additional changes which could influence things though.
I'm going to Natchez tomorrow to attend the state library conference. It'll be good to see friends again and reconnect with colleagues.
I've also been making plans to attend Midwinter. I've registered and reserved a hotel room. I just need to arrange transportation. I've not been to a national conference in a couple years.3 It should be fun, educational, and be a brief respite.
_________
1I've always felt a bit uncomfortable inviting friends when they don't know who's getting married mostly because I have sometimes felt like I'm superfluous when at events where I don't know the people being honored.
2But no pay raise to go with this increased responsibility. Alas, Babylon.
