Mississippi's Favorite Architecture
From the AIA/Mississippi, what are your five favorite Mississippi buildings?
Thanks go to the Lauren Rogers blog for the heads-up.

Every old building in Vicksburg. The post office and others. They are just really cool
Moo!
Blech!! There may be some cool old buildings in Vicksburg, but sitting right beside each is likely to be an ugly metal building which seriously detracts from the old building. And they've let so many buildings fall into neglect. Very sad.
Spoken like someone who used to work in Vicksburg. For what it's worth, I voted for the old & new Capitols, the Eudora Welty House, Longwood, and the Lauren Rogers Museum.
I can tell you what I wouldn't vote for! The Meridian Police Station?
What the hay-ell?
Hmmm. Haven't seen the locations Library Guy mentioned.
Cow has been in the new Capitol once but was so worried about 1)giving a presentation to legislators and 2)being on crutches for a broken ankle; the building is just a blur.
And Harry, yes, it's too sad when ugly new things are put next to old things, but this humble Cow still thinks the old things are fascinating.
Moo!
Hmm, sensing a story here....
Supermom, just HOW intimately acquainted are you with the Meridian Police building??????
Hmmmm?
I take the fifth!

I'm entitled to...to...to a call to Dale Danks!
Pssst. Meridian Police Station was one of the nominees and a complete boring structure architecturally.
The public library in Laurel used to be in the basement of the Lauren Rogers museum. I remember going in there quite often when I was a child. As far as the Meridian Police Department is concerned, I've never been inside their building.
Ahaha.
Supermom comes clean with a "likely story" about her knowledge.
Be careful, supermom.
Moo!
it's my story and I'm sticking to it!
